Yes, every company out there is trying to sell its “greenness,” but every now and then, I find a green product that is truly . Positively Green greeting cards are not only beautifully designed, but each one has a different environmental tip on the back . My favorite has a quote from Frankenstein’s Monster on the front: “Friend. Goood” and inside, the message is, “You. Great.” Check them out here.
"For all that has been: Thanks! For all that will be: Yes!" ~Dag Hammerskjold
“Why, by god, does one spend one’s life according to conventions that constrict us like a tight costume and that prevent us from reaching the invisible soul, this dancer among the stars!” ~Rilke
“You are the spell the Universe has cast.” Phyllis Curott
“There are days that feel disjointed. Nothing seems to go smoothly. It may be that we are hearing the muffled voice of soul within us, asking us to let ourselves be lost for awhile. We are not machines, but spirits in search of home.” All the Days of My Life: A Yearbook of Found Sentences for the Human Journey, by Marv and Nancy Hiles, Iona Center email nancyhiles@comcast.net to order.

“TRY: Setting aside a time every day for just being. Five minutes would be fine, or ten or twenty or thirty if you want to venture that far. “When we make a place for silence, we make room for ourselves. This is simple. And it is radical. A room set apart for silence becomes a sanctuary--a place for breath, for refreshment, for challenge, and for healing.” Gunilla Norris, Sharing Silence
Do all the good you can by all the means you can in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can. ~John Wesley (from Spiritual Illuminations, edited by Peg Streep)
"Life may be brimming over with experiences, but somewhere, deep inside, all of us carry a vast and fruitful loneliness wherever we go. And sometimes the most important thing in a whole day is the rest we take between two deep breaths, or the turning inward in prayer for five short minutes." Etty Hillesum, An Interrupted Life
Morning is supposed to be the best time to exercise the body, so why not the mind? I decided to write a poem every day for a month, the only constraint being that it had to fit on a Post-it note. I kept a pad on my bedside table, riffed off a poem when I woke up every morning and stuck it on the wall by my bed. At the end of the month, I peeled them off and threw them away.
