she`s so skirt!
Su Daitch has a stroke of genius
"I picked up a brush for the first time in 2000,"
says this 57-year-old painter and art teacher. "I always tell my
students: If I can do it, you can do it." An office manager for 32
years, Su started painting one day out of the blue. After leaving her
job, she soon got a gig painting at Buckhead's TuTu Tango for patrons.
"Once I started selling paintings, I realized Maybe I am an artist!'"
She's made over 1000 paintings and sold close to 240 since then. These
days she exhibits everywhere from Miami to Manhattan, and has never had
any formal art education. And although she loves painting, what Su
really delights in is teaching. She started Arts By Su and now makes a
living at her passion. "It's cool to get someone to step out of their
box and do something new." She supplies all the canvas and paints, so
beginners don't have to get all bogged down in supplies to start. "I
can get a painting out of anyone," she promises. "I get emails thanking
me, and that's the happiness you just can't put a price tag on."
