In my most hectic week ever (I swear!) I have turned my blog over to my hip, new interns to wax poetic. This gem is from Ali Spizman, who will be a senior at UGA next year:
Girls & Sports
The NBA finals began last night at 8:30. It is written in my planner next to my reminder to get a manicure and pedicure. While I absolutely love the girly stuff (a.k.a everything pink, monogrammed & Swarovski’d) I also am a die-hard NBA fan. Even though I grew out of my tomboy stage circa 8th grade when I grew my bangs out and got my braces, the competitive side of me still shines through. The same girl that wears 4-inch silver pumps and red lipstick has also played in the Junior Olympics. I thrive on a challenge and since I was little, have always wanted to compete with the boys. This definitely is attributed to having an older brother.
In between Chris Brown's “Forever” and Leona Lewis's “Bleeding Love,” I switch to ESPN radio. I feel that in life, some of the toughest respect is gained on the court. I think playing a sport is a competition ultimately against yourself as an individual mentally and physically. Needless to say, this is going to be a great final as long as the Lakers win.
Anyone else hooked like me?
