Ciara sparkles on stage.
Ciara’s creative spark came early. “I was thirteen years old when I said, ‘Okay I’m going to do this,” says the 22-year-old, whose debut album, “Goodies,” went triple-platinum. The Atlanta recording artist hails from Decatur and has worked with Gwen Stefani, Missy Elliot, Lil Jon and Chris Brown. “I remember sitting around the lunch table with friends talking about what we wanted to do with our lives after high school,” she says. “And I said, ‘I want to be an entertainer.’” Soon after, one of the friends approached her about an open audition. She got the gig and only a few years later she was nominated for “Best New Artist” at the Grammy’s, her album was number one on the Billboards and she was headed for stardom. Her second album “Evolution” just debuted. Now there are new goals outside of music to pursue: “I write, co-produce and I want to do a fashion line…but the ultimate is to build a dance hall here in Atlanta. I think it’s important to challenge yourself and try new things.”
