The Spark Issue
Where do great ideas come from? Sometimes I look up to the heavens and yell, “Madame Curie me!” or “C’mon, baby, light my creative fire!” All I need is that one big idea. That million dollar moneymaker. That spark of innovation to set me up for life. It can’t be that hard right? Suuuuuuuuuure. But the local women in this issue make it look so easy. Cynthia Good has started one successful business after another, Ciara’s album went triple-platinum practically overnight and three Atlanta inventors talk about their unique creations. Since I haven’t found my meal ticket yet, I feel like stomping my feet and screaming, “I want a golden goose too!” But then of course I remember I’m not ten anymore. I just keep the faith that the lightning bolt will hit me sooner rather than later. Just like Elizabeth Shue says in the 80s classic Cocktail, “Your Fluglebinder is out there waiting to be discovered!” Maybe something in this issue will spark your imagination, and your Fluglebinder will come to you. All I’m saying is, if it does, will you send me a finders’ fee?
