“A few years ago, we took a sabbatical,” says Ann. “My husband and I wanted our children to experience life in another country.” Ann, who grew up in Switzerland and speaks French, imagined something similar for her kids. She packed everyone up and moved to Aix en Provence. “We had the best year of our lives,” she says. Ann soon befriended some French artists who asked her if she would sell their pieces in the States. “I’d never sold anything before in my life. I came from corporate marketing,” she says. “But I sold everything in one day!” After moving back to America, she continued to sell paintings and soon met Meg Herrington, who was doing something similar. “We decided to open a gallery.” Now the twosome own Huff Harrington (
huffharrington.com) in Buckhead and they travel to France about six times a year. “The thing about the French is, they live in the moment,” says Ann. “I feel like I live that way now.”
