Terrie O’Hanlon | Global Powerhouse

“The U.K., Tokyo, Sydney, France—I have people that I manage in all those locations,” says Terrie, a Cobb County mother of three. She’s also the Senior VP of Marketing for Manhattan Associates, a global software company. “How do I make it all work?” she says. “1. Marry the right person. 2. Hire the right person.” Her family, assistant and occasional maid service help her get it all done. When she’s not flying in the company’s executive jet to India to streamline recruitment messaging, she’s figuring out the company’s global brand positioning for clients like The Home Depot and Wal-Mart. “My job is to tailor our marketing whether it’s the French, the Japanese, etc.” says Terrie. “If you don’t do the traveling to get familiar, you don’t understand the nuances between cultures.” For Terrie, sightseeing is often done on the fly. “But more important than staring at monuments, I get to see each culture’s uniqueness. It makes you realize there are a lot of ways to do things.”
