Sue Briss fights for the facts.

"Sex in schools is a health education concern," says Sue, the executive director of Georgia Parents for Responsible Health Education. Like Voluptas, Greek Goddess of Sensuality, Sue keeps watch over sexual expression. Always a fighter of worthy causes, Sue founded GPRHE in 2004 with ten other active parents who disagreed with the abstinence-only program that was to be implemented in their kids' school. "Sex Ed shouldn't be a liberal or conservative issue; it's about what is the best education we can give our kids. It's the parents' job to step in, and that's what we did." Now Sue is educating parents around Georgia about their sex education curriculums and how to advocate. "My two girls roll their eyes when I bring up the topic of sex, but I know they are listening and want the real facts," she says. She believes it's the school's job to give comprehensive sex education. "But it's still the parent's role to give them their values and morals."
