24/7 with... Emily Dorroh, Improv actor at The Village Theatre, Atlanta

Portrait of
Mark Gantt

My family: parents in Louisville and one sister in DC

My work:  advertising sales maven by day, improv goddess by night. villagetheater.com

My passion: being in front of an audience.

My favorite possession: my costume collection including red, white and blue cowboy boots and over a dozen wigs

My hometown: Louisville, KY

I’m thinking about: how different life was before GOOGLE

Words I live by: The show must go on.  In 7th grade, I fell off the stage in a school play, cut open my ear and finished the play.

I can’t live without: exercise most days of the week and dessert all days of the week

I am most proud of: being the first woman in my improv troupe at The Village Theatre

What keeps me awake at night: nothing- I have a clear conscience.

One thing I never want to do again: stay in the wrong situation too long (whether it be a relationship, a job or a bad pair of jeans)

If I could be totally wild, I would: ride a motorcycle and wear sexier clothes but not necessarily at the same time

I am guilty of: being too self-critical

Right now I’m reading: The Memory Keeper’s Daughter, which takes place in my home state of Kentucky

The one item that has changed my life: NETFLIX

Favorite web site: villagecomedy.com (shameless plug I know)

Last major purchase: Crown. Unfortunately, the kind that goes in your mouth, not on top of your head

The nickname I wish I had: Sassypants

My theme song:  Don’t Stop Believing

If I had a vanity plate on my car, it would say: BEWARE! RUNNING LATE!

If I could do it all over again: I would move to NYC right out of college

My favorite body part: my rear

The food I could eat every day: Oreos

If I were a superheroine (or fictional heroine), I would be: 20/20 Vision Girl!

My blog (if applicable): villagecomedy.com

The most important thing I ever lost: all my photos and mementos from when I backpacked with my girlfriends in Europe.

The best thing I ever won: I got to be the Queen to the winning knight at Medieval Times on a family vacation to Toronto.

My best friend says I am: a total nerd; they don’t call me Dorka for nothing

I still can’t get the hang of: security alarms- I always get ‘exit’ and ‘away’ mixed up

I wish I’d known: that what I wanted to be when I was 8 years old would never change

The world would be a better place, if only: everyone could laugh at themselves more

I’d like to learn to: do stand-up comedy and play the piano

Something most people don’t know about me: I worked for Strom Thurmond his final year in office

My mother always said: Freckles are always in style

The worst idea I’ve ever had: Sushi dinner on my 21st birthday

The smartest woman I know: My mom and sister but for different reasons

My first job: snack shop attendant at Iceland Ice Skating Rink

What are you most vain about? Being able to make people feel at ease

Whose diary would you most like to read? Gilda Radner

What do you fear the most? Boredom

Best one-liner you ever heard: I like kids, but I don’t think I could eat a whole one.

Always... keep doing what makes you happy even if others think it’s different or weird.

Never... wear heels while performing improv on stage….it can lead to a broken foot.

I wish… you didn’t have to drive everywhere in Atlanta.

its goot to be optimistic and be ahead of the people around you but try not to go tooo far, becuase the pleasure of reaching the destination is along with your friends not alone
