Lies, lies, all lies

I love all the different ways people lie. I understand a real lie, a lie that actually deceives someone. But, the funniest lies are the ones that everyone knows are happening. These are the funny lies.

Everybody does this; yet, I have no idea why.

One time, I was about seven and eating some blue jello. Miraculously, some completly different blue jello was dropped on the stairs. Of course, as I tell my mother to this day, there is no way that the blue jello on the stairs came from my jello cup. Some other person with matching blue jello MUST have dropped it. It was not my fault in the slightest, it was a terrible terrible coincidence.

Now, of course my mother knew this was a lie. I knew it was a lie, even the cat probably was thinking to itself "Man, thats a terrible lie. She couldn't have come up with anything better?"

Now my writers tell me these same kinds of lies, maybe without the screaming blue jello as evidence  factor, but obvious, obvious lies.

Why do people tell these screaming lies? I understand children telling them but adults doing it is just hilarious because, usually, these lies have no consequences. The other person knows you're telling a lie anyway.

But, maybe, just maybe, these lies really do create the sliver of doubt that it may be true. But, then again, maybe not. It's a mystery, yet we keep on telling these little lies to each other. Why? I have no idea.

White lies help people in so

White lies help people in so many ways. From hurting feelings, from facing reality. They only get worse. But at least their entertaining you.

The girl who called wolf

Apparently I was one of those kids who lied about everything. It didn't matter if I thought I would get in trouble or just wanted something. I lied. The few times I told the truth no one believed me, they thought it was just like every other time. I try not to lie now. I try to be honest and even if I can't tell the whole truth (if it will hurt some one) I will tell what I can. I'll say that color looks amazing on you, I just may leave out that the cut or style of the shirt makes you look like a stuffed pig. A good friend I might say I like this shirt better, rather then the something mean. Is that still a lie? Either way you got me thinking, great blog!
